Page 10 <br />August 10, 1987 <br />Other Revem:es record various revenues not otherwise classified. <br />Investment interest is earnings on the investment of temporarily <br />idle cash balances. Transfers are transfers from other funds <br />made for special purposes. These transfers are: <br />1) transfers from the Water Fund for administrative services paid <br />by General Fund, $41,192, <br />2) transfer from the Sewer Fund for Administrative services paid <br />by the General Fund, $25,916, <br />3) transfer from the Silver Lake Woods Fund for costs of street <br />maintenance, <br />4) transfer from the Special Projects Fund for Capital outlay <br />items $71#995. <br />Appropriation nF Fuhd Balance of $10,881 represents amounts set <br />aside in 1987 for purchase of squad cars and the conduct of <br />elections during 1988: <br />Recreation Activity Fund. <br />Revenues of this Fund are budgeted to equal expenditures of <br />$102,331. The Fund is operated on a break even basis in order to <br />offer recreation programs to residents at the least possible <br />cost. <br />Lakeside Park Fund. <br />Contributions from the Cities of Spring lake Park and Mounds View <br />are used for operations of Lakeside Park. A contribution of <br />$11,500 will be requested from each City in 1988. <br />Forestry Funs'.. <br />The Forestry Fund's operations are supported primarily by the <br />property tax levy. Property tax levies of $28,460 for the <br />Forestry Fund in 1988 are 8.13% greater than 1987 levies. The <br />Forestry increase is the same increase provided the General Fund <br />under the levy limitation law. Rei.mbu-sements of $5,000 for <br />removal of diseased trees from private property has been <br />budgeted. That amount is based upon past reimbursements. <br />$10,669 is needed for the purchase of a new pickup truck. As <br />mentioned in the Forestry expenditure commentary this could be <br />raised by a special property tax levy. Staff seeks Council <br />direction on this matter. <br />PROPERTY TAXES <br />Property taxes needed to finance th? Proposed General & Forestry <br />Budgets and to pay principal and interest due on Advance <br />Refunding Bonds in 1988 are $1,051,290, That is an increase of <br />$81,745 over the 1987 Property tax levy of $969,545.
