Mounds View City Council September 28, 1987, <br />Regular Meeting 'x (P'{_j �" Page -Two---------_ <br />-- ---------------------- ------ <br />�d p0 pp G <br />Finance Director Brager reviewed the 1988 budgeted <br />,'expenditures. He explained the budget would be a <br />maintenance budget, which does not change or increase <br />services, but rather maintains them, and that the City <br />has not found a way to keep the cost the same, and it <br />has increasea each year. He stated the proposed budget <br />represents a 6.2% increase over 1987. <br />Finance Director Brager explained the Council has <br />budgeted $135,000 this year to pursue the City's law- <br />suit against williams Pipeline. He also reviewed <br />the 1980 budgeted revenues, and stated there would be <br />no increase in sewer or water rates, which have remained <br />the same for three years now. He added property taxes <br />will increase 3.2 mills over 1987, for the City's <br />portion of the property tax. <br />Mayor Links closed the public hearing and reopened the f <br />regular meeti-9 at 7:16 PM. <br />Mayor Links closed the regular meeting and opened the 7. Lublic in Hofringi <br />next public hearing at 7:16 PM. Delinquent <br />Finance Director Brager reported Staff has exhausted Utility Accnts, <br />the methods of collecting delinquent utility bills, <br />and they are now asking that these be levied to the u <br />individuals over a one year period. <br />Mayor I•inke closed the public hearing and reopened the <br />regular meeting at 7:17 PM. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley read the items on the <br />8. ApprovConsenalAof ..- <br />proposed consent agenda. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked that Items C, G and H be <br />removed. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Blanchard to approve the consent <br />agenda, minus Items C, G and H, and waive the reading <br />of the resolutions. <br />Motion Carried. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Hankner asked if the streetlight in <br />Item C would be placed where the residents want it. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley replied it would be <br />exactly where they asked for it. <br />Motion/Second: Hankner/Wuori to approve Item C of <br />the consent agenda, authorizing placement of the <br />Groveland Park across from 8255 Fairchild. <br />streetlight in <br />Motion Carried <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />
