Conducts interrogation of suspects and witnesses as 10 <br />part of overall patrol activities <br />--Obtains signed statements with sufficient clarity �1 <br />to provide support for any potential legal action <br />Ensures all reports written by assigned personnel are 11 <br />prepared according to established department regulations <br />and follow through to correct discrepancies which may <br />occur in the reporting process <br />Answers citizens' complaints and inquiries related to 12 <br />non -criminal activities and follows through to resole <br />such matters to the satisfaction of all parties concerned <br />Keeps the Police Chief informed of any developments 13 <br />which must be known to effectively manage overall <br />department operations <br />Performs other responsibilities as apparent or as 14 <br />delegated <br />Other Performance Measurements <br />Maintains thorough knowledge of state and federal laws, city <br />ordinances and related rules of arrest and search or seizure <br />to ensure legally -accepted procedures are consistently <br />followed <br />Has proven skill and ability to respond in emergency <br />situations <br />Communicates effectively in making oral or written reports <br />Develops, maintains and promotes a cooperative work <br />environment with co-workers in the office and while on <br />patrol duty <br />Responds to emergency situations promptly to ensure <br />appropriate controls are maintained until additional help is <br />available <br />Minimum Requirements <br />As determined by Police Civil Service Commission <br />Responsibility for Work of Others <br />Direct supervision over <br />--Patrol Officers, as assigned <br />
