Mounds View City'Council March 9, 1987 <br />Regular Meeting �" 3 ��.� k- Page Three <br />------------------------- -ILI-D - --------- <br />There was discussion among the Counciof to <br />difficulty in getting communications from the <br />County Recording Office, for changes such as <br />this with the vacation of easements. <br />Motion/Second: Wuori/Quick to approve Resolution <br />No. 2174, vacating easements on Lots 1 through 8, <br />Block 4, Silver Lake Woods, and waive, the <br />reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the request <br />for a storm sewer easement vacation for the Red <br />Oak Park plat. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Blanchard to approve Reso- <br />lution No. 2179, vacating storm sewer easements <br />in Red Oak Park Plat, and waive the reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Police Chief Ramacher gave a comparison of <br />crime statistics for 1986 versus 1985 in both <br />Class I and Class II crimes. He reported the <br />most serious problem in Mounds View is theft, <br />with 483 cases reported in 1986, and he gave a <br />breakdown of the categories of theft involved. <br />He reported that 34% of crimes committed in the <br />City in 1986 were solved, which is the same <br />percentage that was solved in 1985. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reported they are on-line <br />with the new computer system and are excited <br />about it. He also reported the reserve program <br />is going well, and they now have seven reservists, <br />who are very helpful in supplementing the police <br />department in certain areas. <br />Finance Director Brager presented the Council <br />with completed financial statements for 1986 <br />and reviewed some of the highlights briefly. He <br />reported the general fund budget ran over due to <br />the Williams Pipeline situation. Finance Director <br />Brager also reviewed some of the planned activities <br />of the finance department for the coming quarter. <br />Park, Recreation and Forestry Director Saarion <br />presented copies of hbr 4th quarter report to the <br />L Council and reviewed it with them. She discussed <br />with the Council the problems they have been <br />experiencing with getting space reserved at Edgewood <br />Community Center, and then being bumped out by the <br />school district, who has a higher priority over the <br />Motion Carried <br />12.
