MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Council <br />FROM: Public Works Foreman <br />DATE: April 2, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: DUMP TRUCK SPECIFICATIONS <br />For your review, a complete copy of the dump truck specifications <br />can be found in the City Hall Council Chambers over the weekend. <br />For simplification, I will summarize what I believe are the <br />highlights of the specifications: <br />1. 90 day delivery <br />2. 12 month warranty, 24 month on engine <br />3. Truck - single axel <br />Cat 3208T engine desil <br />Allison MT 653, transmission (automatic) <br />4. Dump Box - 5 to 6 yard capacity <br />5. P.T.O. - Chelsea Model 2381 <br />6. Snow Plow - Fall Model 311R, one way reversable <br />7. Sander - Auger -Falls Model IAS <br />An amount of $60,000 has been budgeted for this item. The <br />specifications are slightly over 8 pages of full type and were <br />developed from 3 different Citys' information. You will note we <br />have included as part of the bid and specifications not only the <br />dump truck itself, but also the accessories of a snow plow and <br />tail gate sand spreader. Based on previous bids of other Cities, <br />the budgeted amount should be adequate to purchase the entire <br />package. <br />If you have any questions, I will be happy to discuss them with <br />you at your meeting. Should the specifications meet your <br />approval, Staff would advertise and mail specifications to <br />selected vendors. Bid opending could be set for May 4, 1987, <br />with awarding of accepted bid on May 11, 1987. <br />Thank you. <br />SAR/bac <br />
