Mounds <br />View Planning Commission <br />March <br />4, 1987 <br />Regular <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Meeting <br />Page <br />Four <br />The Planning Commission asked that the Council try to <br />retain the firm of Barton-Ashmann to do the traffic <br />I <br />study, and address the following .issues: oo-site <br />stacking for rars leaving the site; ingress/egress <br />onto Silver Lake Road - right in, right out; what <br />type of median would be needed to control access; <br />the stacking of: cars waiting to get into thp. tsar wash; <br />and the issue of a joint shared access. <br />Chairman Mounti.n asked if the two property owners <br />would consider sharing one access onto Highway 10 <br />between thein two properties, as it is a goal to <br />reduce the number of curb cuts onto Highway lo. <br />Jim llensen,.of Wagner Corporation, stated they are <br />willing to work with the Planning Commission with <br />the traffic: study, and they would .like to stay on <br />schedule and not have I.o wait for the results of <br />tire traffic: study to be presented before moving <br />ahead with anything else. <br />Chairman MounLin explained it should only bi a matter <br />of two or I.hree weeks before the study results are <br />in, assuming they can (let Barton-Ashmann right away. <br />Commi.ssionor Burgers asked what the plan is for the <br />adjacent property. c <br />Mr. Hansen replied they have no tenant for. Lhe <br />remainder of the property at this time, and if. Amoco <br />is approved and goes in, they will develop the <br />adjacent property as quickly as possible. Ile added <br />they are both flexible and negotiable as to what <br />goes on that parcel and they will keep Elie hest <br />interests of the City in mind when seeking a tenant. <br />Chairman Mountin stated they should check with MOOT <br />on the curb cut .issue, as now would be the Lime to go <br />with a single cut, while development is occuring. <br />Mr. Filippi staled he will make the necessary applica- <br />tions to MnUOT, as appropriate. <br />The Planning Commission agreed to ask the Council for <br />the traffic study, and continue discussion on the <br />development at the next agenda session if there is any <br />additional .information, and place it on the April 1, <br />1987 agenda, for the nrxt regular business meeting. <br />Carl Kr.isti,phcc, of. Amoco Corporation, slaked he could <br />assure the planning Commission there would he no <br />problem Willi ouLside trash on the site, as that. is a <br />top priority of all their far.titt.ies, to ie neat and <br />well kept and a good nrighbor, ice. added he feels this L <br />development. would be a dramatic improvement to the <br />City, and they will be proud of it. 4 <br />
