-z- <br />Attends various meetings (including Council, city organizations, <br />commissions, clubs and agencies) as scheduled or requested for the <br />purpose of providing the background and/or support data required to <br />make the best possible decisions relating to departmental needs to <br />generate support for departmental activities. <br />- To serve in an advisory capacity to minimize duplicative services <br />and to coordinate and cooperate with other agencies in developing <br />support for recreational programs. <br />Oversees and evaluates all city forestry activities to facilitate <br />the development and maintenance of the City's "green canopy". <br />Serves as staff liaison between the Park and Recreation Commission <br />and the City Council with the goal of increasing citizen involvement <br />in city decisions relating to provision of park and recreation <br />programs. <br />- Ensures that Commission members receive complete packets and all <br />related literature for each agenda session and oversees the <br />preparation and distribution of commission minutes to <br />appropriate personnel. <br />Answers inquiries and complaints from citizens relating to <br />department activities and personally follows through to resolve the <br />matter in the most diplomatic and business -like manner. <br />Submits park project and planning reports and recreation program <br />activity and participation reports and ensures that department <br />records are maintained in an accurate and up-to-date manner to <br />ensure availability of information as required or requested. <br />Keeps the Clerk -Administrator informed of all important matters <br />which need to be known to effectively manage overall operations. <br />Plans, implements and evaluates a portion of the individual <br />recreation activities within the overall City program based on <br />identified community needs. , <br />Plans, implements and evaluates a portion of the individual <br />recreation activities within the overall City program based on <br />identified community needs. This includes <br />the hiring and supervision of part-time staff and all other <br />necessary training and administrative work for part-time employees <br />and volunteers. <br />Establishes necessary policies and procedures required to ensure all <br />necessary paperwork is maintained for volunteers or employees <br />in the City recreation program. <br />Coordinates and controls facility usage related to assigned programs <br />in a manner which will be most equitable in the interest of fairness <br />and nature of request for such usage. <br />Assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated. <br />
