Age and Functional Claarificahion Inventor <br />Table 2 summarizes the Local Streets starting with oldest aegmwnt first <br />and are grouped as to when tliey last had major maintenace. Table 3 <br />similarly summarizes the MSA Street. Tablo 4 summarizes the County Roads <br />and Table 5 summarizea the CSAH road3. <br />Figure 1 illustrates the age of the sytem by percent and Figure 2 <br />illustrates the cummulative distribution by age. As can be seen <br />approximately 52 percent of the system was built in 1967, 75 percent of <br />the system was built prior to 196E (over 15 years old), and 85 to 90 <br />percent of the system is at least 10 years old, <br />The normal design life of bituminous pavements is 20 years with routine <br />seal coating being recommended every 3 to 7 years depending on traffic <br />-ol,imes and surface distress. As bituminous pavements become 20 to 25 <br />years old major resurfacing and/or reconstruction will be required. <br />Figures 3 and 4 summarLzc the length and surface area by year of <br />construction o.nd functional cla3s1ficatlon. <br />Surface Condition and Functional Classlf lcation Inventory <br />Tables 6, 7, 8 and 9 summarize by Functional classification the results of <br />the surface condition survey. This is a reasonable mainteance teance cyclecle and it is <br />recommended to continue a 5 year <br />0 <br />
