Mounds View City Council April 14, 2025 <br />Regular Meeting Page 11 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported Project Ardan was promoting Earth Day week from April 20 through <br />April 28 and was encouraging residents to make a positive impact on the greenspace in the <br />community. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom explained he received a note from Carrie at Just Deeds and noted the residents <br />of this community has dispatched 196 racial covenants to date. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom stated he received a letter from a resident who is unhappy with the condition of <br />their neighbors’ yard on Spring Lake Road. He passed this letter along to City staff. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom commented on Wednesday, he would be speaking to graduates at the Stillwater <br />Prison who received their GED to share his own personal story. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Bauman stated the 2024 audit would be presented to the City Council at the first <br />meeting in May. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated the Explore More summer program <br />was up 30% this year. He noted the City would be partnering with Arden Hills to provide a Rec <br />on the Go program as well this summer which would bring recreational programming to the City’s <br />parks. He indicated he was working with the District 621 to have Meals on Wheels run out of the <br />Community Center. <br /> <br /> 1. Public Works – Tree Sale <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated there would be an arbor day planting <br />event at Silver View Park on Friday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. He commented further on the tree sale <br />the Public Works staff was proposing to host. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To allow Public Works staff to host a tree sale with tree <br />prices at the same cost that was charged to the City. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported he met with Ramsey County <br />recycling to discuss the fence at the compost site. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the <br />Ardan and Silver View ponds projects. <br /> <br />Police Chief Zender thanked the City Council and community for their outpouring of support for <br />K9 Niko and Investigator Erickson. <br />
