First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 1043 Amending Title XV, 5 <br />Chapters 151, 154, 158, 159 and 160 of the Mounds View Municipal Code 6 <br />relating to Public Hearing Processes. 7 <br /> 8 <br />This item was removed from the agenda prior to the meeting. 9 <br /> 10 <br />C. First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 1044 Amending Title XV, 11 <br />Chapter 160 of the Mounds View Municipal Code Relating to Off-Street 12 <br />Parking Requirements. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Evan Monson, Stantec, requested the Council introduce an ordinance that would amend a portion 15 <br />of City Code related to off-street parking requirements. He discussed the proposed parking ratios 16 <br />and noted the proposed changes would be more consistent with neighboring cities. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Council Member Smith asked if a garage counts as one of the parking spaces for a duplex. Mr. 19 <br />Monson stated the language could be amended to include a garage as one parking space. He 20 <br />reported typically driveways are used for counting parking spaces. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Clark recommended this language not include a reference to garage parking 23 <br />spaces, given how not all properties in Mounds View have garages. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Gunn questioned if the restaurant parking requirements would be changed given 26 <br />the issues that had occurred at Mounds View Square. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Mayor Lindstrom asked if this was the friendliest version of the ordinance or was more work 29 <br />required. He anticipated multi-family parking would still have to be discussed by the City Council. 30 <br />Mr. Monson stated he could bring this matter before the Council. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman reported staff could bring this ordinance back to the Council 33 <br />at the Monday, June 2 joint worksession meeting with the Planning Commission. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Gunn supported this recommendation and suggested language also be considered 36 <br />for fitness clubs. 37 <br /> 38 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause.
