Fxhihit A <br />Job Title: <br />Grade: <br />Supervisor Title <br />Department: <br />FLSA Status: <br />Date Reviewed: <br />Accountant <br />8 <br />Finance Director <br />Finance <br />Exempt <br />06/24/2024 <br />MovrmS ViEv <br />JOB DESCRIPTION <br />Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience: <br />➢ Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, <br />business or public administration, or a closely related field. <br />➢ One (1) year of progressively responsible municipal accounting or finance work, or any equivalent <br />combination of education and experience. <br />Nature of Work: <br />This position is responsible for preparing bi-weekly payroll and related reports, accounts payable and accounts <br />receivable. Performs technical and administrative accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and systems <br />of the city. In addition, they prepare accurate and timely reports for management, the City Council, and the <br />general public. <br />Communicates with: <br />Internally —All staff. <br />Externally —Vendors and general public. <br />Supervision: <br />None <br />Essential Work Functions: <br />Accountant <br />• Makes journal entries to balance and close monthly/yearly books in general ledger, revenue, and expense accounts; <br />reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts. <br />• Maintains accounts receivable and other subsidiary records. <br />• Reconciles all bank statements and Investment accounts. <br />• Monitors daily cash flow activities and transfers monies to ensure proper account balances. <br />• Prepares Invoices for false alarms, lawn service and tree removal. <br />• Compiles data for monthly sales tax report and files with the State. <br />• Assists in the preparation of the annual financial report and other County, State, or Federal reports. <br />• Prepares financial reports on water, sewer, storm water, and streetlight revenues and expenses. <br />• Performs periodic financial studies and analyses. <br />• Assists the Finance Director in the operation and maintenance of the City's central financial computer system. <br />• Prepares monthly and other financial reports to assist management and governing bodies in evaluating the financial <br />condition of the City. <br />• Prepares trial balances, audit schedules, work papers, and other information to assist auditors in performing audits of <br />City accounts/activities. <br />• Maintains capital assets either new, disposed and/or changed. <br />• Processes year-end accruals for accounts payable/receivable, payroll and utility billing. <br />
