TO: Mayor & Council 'n <br />FROM: Finance Director-Treasirer Brager Lf� <br />DATE: March 15, 1988 \ <br />RE: PURCHASE OF NEW PAYROLL SYSTEM FROM COMPUTOSERVICE, INC. <br />Computoservice Inc. has developed a new payroll sytem which is <br />greatly superior to their present system. A description of the <br />new system is attached. One of the most beneficial new features <br />is an interface to the Fund & Budget Accounting System (FBA). This <br />interface generates accounting entries from the Payroll System to <br />the FBA System. Presently these entries are performed manually. <br />The savings in time from this feature alone would pay back the cost, <br />of the system in a short time. <br />A discount program for existing users of the current payroll system <br />has been established by Computoservice. If a system is ordered and <br />paid for by March 31, 1988 a $1,200 discount from the regular price <br />of $4,000 will be given resulting in a net price of $2,800. <br />Staff request's authorization to purchase the new payroll system from <br />Computoservice, Inc. at a cost of $2,800 to be paid from the un- <br />` designated fund balance of the General Fund. <br />DB/ds <br />Attachment <br />N <br />
