Consideration <br />of Request for <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the issue before Extension of <br />the Council and showed an overhead map of the area Building <br />and the surrounding property. He explained that Permit for <br />in reviewing the request for an extension of the 8100 Groveland <br />building permit, they have discussed the possible Road <br />use of the lot for access to the back of the property <br />for subdivision and development of the back lots. <br />He stated Staff is asking the Council for direction <br />on how to proceed, and he added that a lot split has <br />not been granted, and if applied for, would have to be <br />done at the time of the permit. <br />Mike Hurley identified himself as the attorney repre- <br />senting Julian Johnson, owner of the property. He <br />explained Mr. Johnson is out of the State and was not <br />able to come back for this hearing. He stated they <br />understand that when the original building permit was <br />issued, a lot split was not requested or approved, <br />and that while their original intent was to develop <br />only the small, front portion, without the split they <br />would be dealing with the entire parcel. <br />The Council questioned when Mr. Johnson would ask for <br />a lot split. <br />Mr. Hurley responded that at this time he has no <br />intention of asking for a lot split, but has only <br />requested an extension of the building permit at this <br />time. He added that while 14r. Johnson had misunderstood <br />the lot split issue at the time the original permit was <br />granted, it is acceptable to him. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported a previous owner <br />had applied for a building permit approximately four <br />years ago, which the Council denied at that time. <br />Mr. Hurley pointed out Mr. Johnson has a buildable'lot <br />and he does not see why the City should deny him a permit <br />to build on his property. He added if the City is <br />inclined to acquire the property for a future road, he <br />is willing to talk, and he would like direction from <br />the Council at this time as to what their intentions are, <br />as this has been discussed for years and it is time that <br />a decision be made. He added Mr. Johnson's intention is <br />to construct a home and sell the entire piece, or he may <br />possibly request a lot split at a later date. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked what the market value of <br />(400 <br />the lot is. <br />
