Mounds View City Council N <br />//�� ppp°°°���Regular Meeting --------- -�®_JIV�Ma�23=1988 <br />---------- {Ili Page Three <br />Mr. Hurley replied'they have done some estimating and <br />to*looking at comparables, and as far as the small parcel is concerned, it shouldye valued at $35,000, and they <br />do not have a price yet/tor the entire parcel. <br />'1II/ <br />Councilmember Hankner AWrified that if the smaller <br />parcel is built on, the entire parcel would remain on <br />the tax rolls. <br />Mr. Hurley asked if any parcels in that area were land- <br />locked presently. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley replied there were, and <br />without a road, they would remain so. <br />Mr. Hurley pointed out th'; is not unique, then, to <br />Mr. Johnson. He added there is potential there for <br />c linto <br />hold onto lthe olot oto waitMandJc"nnwhats"he lCity does, <br />but his concern is that something be done, as the <br />Council has sat on this for some time. He explained <br />he had sent a letter to Attorney Meyers in January, <br />requesting the extension, with either a yes or no <br />answer, and five months later they are no further. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked if Mr. Johnson would still <br />want to go ahead if the building permit extension does <br />cl <br />ot of include thellot split. <br />Mr. Hurley replied he does, yet if the City wants to <br />acquire it, he has plans on how the property could be <br />developed. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained if the City <br />acquires it, they would have to take all 77.5' of <br />frontage, all the way through the lot, which would <br />leave them an excess of ]]' to hopefully sell off to <br />adjoining property owners. <br />Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, questioned the value <br />or cost of the property to the City. <br />Mayor Linke explained they are just looking at possi- <br />bilities now, and would need solid numbers before <br />taking any action. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated the only decision <br />the Council would make this evening was whether or not <br />tc extend the building permit, and if they don't, they <br />would have to instruct Staff to begin the process of <br />acquisition, and an appraisal would have to be done. <br />Mayor Linke stated that a denial of the building permit <br />extension does not mean the Council is going to purchase <br />the property. <br />
