RESOLUTION NO. 2339 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN ENVIRONMENTAL <br />QUALITY TASK FORCE <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View recognizes the need <br />for the studying and planning of programs and projects <br />affecting the quality of the City's environment; and <br />WHEREAS, broad citizen invntvom_;;t <br />essenti8l tv Lite successful protection ouppurt is <br />and p on of the environment; <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Mounds View recognize the <br />importance of maintaining and improving the environmental <br />quality of the community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City COLncil of <br />the City of Mounds View that an Environmental Quality Task <br />Force is established as follows: <br />1. Establishment. An Environmental (.,ality Task <br />Force is hereby established for the purpose of <br />advising the City Council, other commissions and <br />committees, and the City staff on environmental <br />matters in order to promoto pollution control and <br />preserve the environment. <br />2. Composition. The Task Force shall consist of 9 <br />members appointed by the. City Council serving 2 <br />Year staggered terms with no more than 5 members' <br />terms expiring in any one year. To the extent <br />Possible, membership of the Task Force shall be <br />representative of all sections of the City and <br />from varied areas of expertise. Non-residents <br />may serve on the Task Force, but only in a non- <br />voting capacity. <br />Vacancies will be filled by the Task Force <br />interviewing applicants for appointment and <br />recommending a candidate(s) for the Position(s) <br />to the City Council. Selection of a candidate by <br />the City Council, ot%ar than the one recommended <br />by the Task Force, shall be accompanied by an <br />explanation of the reasons for not appointing the <br />Task Force's recommended candidate. <br />3. Organization Meetings At the first regular <br />meeting of the Task Force, a chairman shall be <br />selected from its membership. The Task Force may <br />
