Mounds View City Council June 9, 2025 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> 1 The Council supported moving the zipline to the east away from the basketball court. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 E. Resolution 10105,Approving a Proposal from Stantec Engineering Services to <br /> 6 Apply for the Safe Streets for All(SS4A) Grant. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve a proposal <br /> 9 from Stantec Engineering Services to apply for the safe streets for all (SS4A) grant. He discussed <br /> 10 the work that would be completed through this grant noting the purpose would be to assist the City <br /> 1 1 with making the streets safer. It was noted the deadline for this grant is June 26, 2025 and staff are <br /> 12 recommending the Council approve Stantec writing this grant. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Council Member Smith asked if the City typically paid consultants to write grants. City <br /> 15 Administrator Zikmund explained Stantec has a level of expertise that would assist the City in <br /> 16 pursuing this grant. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Council Member Clark inquired if this study would take into consideration Mounds View <br /> 19 Boulevard. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported the study would only <br /> 20 be analyzing local streets. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Clark. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10105, <br /> 23 Approving a Proposal from Stantec Engineering Services to Apply for the Safe Streets for All <br /> 24 (SS4A) Grant. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 9. REPORTS <br /> 29 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Council Member Gunn reported the Police Foundation would be meeting on Tuesday, June 10 at <br /> 32 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Council Member Gunn explained pavers would be sold now through Sunday, June 15 in order to <br /> 35 be installed in time for the park grand opening. She indicated the Tribute Park Committee would <br /> 36 be meeting on June 16 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Council Member Smith commented the Anoka County Airport Advisory Committee would be <br /> 39 meeting on Wednesday, June 11 at 4:00 p.m. at the Blaine City Hall. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Council Member Smith indicated she would be attending a Climate Resilience in Action meeting <br /> 42 on Friday, June 13 at 8:00 a.m. and following this meeting she would be attending the Ramsey <br /> 43 County League of Local Government Meeting. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Council Member Clark reported she attended the Cross Fit North Star ribbon cutting ceremony on <br /> 46 Saturday, June 7. She welcomed this new business to the City of Mounds View. <br />
