<br /> <br /> <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 10124 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> <br />Authorizing the Additional Funding for the Relocation of the Zipline Equipment from <br />Hodges Park to Silver View Park and the Installation of a Zip Track <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution 9502, on November 22, 2021, approving <br />a new playground for Hodges Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new playground included a Zipline, a very popular amenity which has <br />brought in more park patrons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since the Zipline was installed, its popularity recently has garnered mixed <br />feelings. While many of the park patrons have enjoyed the Zipline, property owners adjacent to <br />the park have recently raised concerns with the noise level, language and after park hours use; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 22, 2025, the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />motioned to put the Zipline back up it back up at Hodges Park until it can be moved to Silver View <br />Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City Council passed Resolution 10104, on June 9, 2025, approving <br />moving the zip line to Silver View Park at a cost of $53,649.50. During this meeting the Council <br />further directed Staff to obtain cost to install an additional zip line that would be handicap <br />accessible; and <br /> <br />WHERAS, At the June 23, 2025 City Council meeting Staff during reports informed the <br />Council of the additional costs for installing the additional zip line, concrete and wood fiber; and <br /> <br />WEHERAS, Council again requested Staff to further investigate adding rubber <br />approaches to the Zip Line and bring to these cost to the next Council meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff received a quote from MWP Recreation of Golden Valley, Minnesota for <br />the ZIP Track, installation, rubber poured in place landings, concrete, and site preparation at an <br />additional cost of $50,616.54 to move the Zipline form Hodges Park to Silver View Park and to <br />install a Zip Track. <br /> <br />
