Mounds View City Council June 23, 2025 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if the City would be required to purchase the four properties <br />in order to complete the wetland banking. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson <br />reported this would be required. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom questioned how long the City has been working on this project. Public <br />Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson estimated the City has been working on the wetland <br />banking project for the past two years. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith inquired if this project could only move forward if the four lots were <br />purchased. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom stated this was the case and recalled that the purchase price for these four lots <br />was $200,000. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Clark/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10119, <br />Directing staff to move forward with the Ardan Park Wetland Banking and the eight tasks <br />associated with the application. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked the Community Engagement Committee for the event that <br />was sponsored on Friday, June 20. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided the Council with an update from the Twin Cities Gateway <br />Convention and Visitor Bureau. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark reported the Festival in the Park Committee met last week. She reminded <br />the public that Festival in the Park would be held on August 15 and August 16 and discussed all <br />of the events that have been planned for this year. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark commented on the Juneteenth event that was held last Friday. She thanked <br />all of the volunteers that helped to make this event possible. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark indicated she would be attending the League of Minnesota Cities Annual <br />Conference in Duluth later this week. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith reported the Ramsey County League of Local Government welcomed five <br />panelists in order to discuss climate impacts. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith explained she attended the Anoka County Blaine Airport Advisory <br />Commission meeting last Wednesday where the group discussed how to get youth interested in <br />aviation. She noted a subcommittee was formed to plan an Open House at the airport and she <br />would provide the Council with further information on this after the event is planned.
