Mounds View City Council June 23, 2025 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> 1 Council Member Smith reported she attended Back to the 50's this past weekend. She thanked the <br /> 2 residents in Mounds View who brought her a canopy. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Council Member Smith indicated she would also be attending the League of Minnesota Cities <br /> 5 Annual Conference in Duluth later this week. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Council Member Smith sent her deepest condolences to the family of Metro Transit Sergeant <br /> 8 Beverly Rodrigez and the entire Metro Transit Police Department. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Council Member Gunn reported the Mounds View Police Foundation would be serving up hot <br /> 1 1 dogs on Saturday, June 28 at Von Hansens as part of a fundraiser from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Council Member Gunn explained she attended a Mounds View Police Foundation meeting and the <br /> 14 group was discussing Festival in the Park. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Council Member Gunn provided the City Council with an update from the Tribute Park <br /> 17 Committee. She reported construction on this park would begin next month. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Mayor Lindstrom explained he attended the Community Engagement Juneteenth celebration on <br /> 20 June 20 and he thanked everyone who took the time to attend this community event. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mayor Lindstrom stated he would be attending the League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference <br /> 23 in Duluth as well. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Mayor Lindstrom indicated he met with Pastor Lee from the North Church, noting this church <br /> 26 wants to be more involved in the community. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Mayor Lindstrom commented on the events that occurred on June 14 where Speaker Hortman and <br /> 29 her husband were shot and killed. He explained it was very sad to see this event turning into <br /> 30 something political. He asked that people stop doing this and that people begin speaking to each <br /> 31 other with kindness. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 B. Reports of Staff. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson commented on the water line <br /> 36 interconnection agreement he was working on with Arden Hills. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported the fitness court would break <br /> 39 ground on June 30. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson indicated the Tribute Park would be holding <br /> 42 a preconstruction meeting on Tuesday, June 24. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reviewed potential layouts for the zipline in <br /> 45 Silver View Park and requested direction from the City Council on how to proceed. He noted the <br /> 46 addition zip track and concrete work would cost the City an additional $27,870.95. <br />
