RESOLUTION NO. 10138 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE PROMOTION OF ASA OVERTON <br /> TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has approved recruitment for the position of Police Officer in <br /> the Police Department; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of training and experience scoring, <br /> oral interviews, physical agility testing, thorough background investigation, physical examination, <br /> and psychological examination; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a top candidate in the interview process was Community Service Officer Asa <br /> Overton; and, <br /> WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department have met with CSO Overton, and the Chief of <br /> Police recommends that CSO Overton be promoted to the position of Police Officer; and, <br /> WHEREAS, staff requests to promote CSO Overton to Police Officer at a starting wage of <br /> 75% top patrol rate when a clear psychological examination is received. <br /> 2025 <br /> Starting Wage After 12 Months After 24 Months After 36 Months <br /> 75%of Top Patrol Rate 80%of Top Patrol Rate 90%of Top Patrol Rate 100%of Top Patrol Rate <br /> $36.77 $39.22 $44.13 $49.03 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby: <br /> • Promote Community Service Officer Asa Overton to the position of Police Officer <br /> when a clear psychological examination is received. <br /> • Anticipated promotional date August 5, 2025. <br /> • Wage at the 75% top patrol rate of pay ($36.77/hour) as indicated in the Law <br /> Enforcement Labor Services contract <br /> Adopted this 28t" day of July, 2025. <br /> Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Nyle Zikmund, Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
