Item No: 5H <br /> Meeting Date: July 28, 2025 <br /> MOUNDS VIEW Type of Business: CA <br /> Administrator Review: <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10140, Approving an Emergency Water Interconnect <br /> Agreement with the City of Arden Hills <br /> Background/Discussion: <br /> The Public Works Department has many responsibilities, and one is to efficiently operate the <br /> water distribution system. <br /> The City of Mounds View has Emergency Water Interconnects with the cities of Blaine, Spring <br /> Lake Park, Fridley and New Brighton. <br /> Mounds View supplied water to a portion of Arden Hills in prior years and with the Rice Creek <br /> Commons Development, Mounds View is no longer supplying water for domestic use. Arden <br /> Hills Staff and Mound View Staff agreed that the water lines that connect the two cities should <br /> remain and be used as an emergency water interconnection. <br /> A draft agreement was reviewed by the Mounds View City attorney and expressed no concerns <br /> regarding it. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements.
