Resolution 10131,Approve the Bids and Authorize Roof Repairs for Well#4. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve the bids and <br /> 10 authorize roof repairs for Well #4. He explained this roof needed replacement and he spoke with <br /> 11 Garland Company LLC to assist staff with acquiring three bids for this project. He commented on <br /> 12 the proposed bids that were received and recommended the bids be accepted and that a contract be <br /> 13 approved with Garland Company for Well#4. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10131, <br /> 16 Approve the Bids and Authorize Roof Repairs for Well#4. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 G. Resolution 10133, Approve the Purchase of(2) Service Trucks for the Public <br /> 21 Works Department. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve the purchase <br /> 24 of two service trucks for the Public Works Department. He noted one of the trucks would be used <br /> 25 for the street department and the other would be used for storm water. It was noted staff received <br /> 26 two quotes for these trucks and recommended the Council move forward with the truck purchases <br /> 27 for the Public Works Department. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Council Member Smith asked if the City received any extended warranties on these vehicles. <br /> 30 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained the trucks would come with <br /> 31 warranties on the drive trains. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road, questioned why the City was not looking to purchase used <br /> 34 vehicles with low miles, noting this may save the City a great deal of money. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Council Member Meehlhause asked how old the vehicles were that the City was replacing. Public <br /> 37 Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson indicated the trucks were from 2011 and 2012. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Mayor Lindstrom stated he believed the pricing for the two new trucks was fair. He explained he <br /> 40 would not be inclined to begin purchasing used vehicles going forward because the City hangs <br /> 41 onto their vehicles for 15+years. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause.
