Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported he would be attending another pardon hearing on Friday, August 1. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom encouraged the public to consider hosting and/or attending a Night to Unite <br />block party on Tuesday, August 5. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom excused himself from the meeting at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark stated the first movie in the park would be held on Friday, August 1 at City <br />Hall Park. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark encouraged the public to attend Festival in the Park on Friday, August 15 <br />and Saturday, August 16. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Bauman reported she hoped to have Liliya Loginova on staff by the end of <br />August. <br /> <br />Police Chief Zender reviewed the items the police department would be collecting on Night to <br />Unite. He noted the City had 21 block parties registered with the police department. He then <br />commended his officers for being proactive in the community, when it comes to policing. He <br />discussed the number of successes the department has had due to the newly installed Flock <br />cameras. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated summer programs were starting to <br />wind down and fall registrations were now taking place. He reviewed the artwork that was being <br />proposed for the fitness court. He indicated the street contractor would be putting concrete in place <br />on Wednesday and the entire project would be completed by August 15. <br /> <br />Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road, asked that the City take a look at the trees that were <br />overhanging the trail along Spring Lake Road. He stated he wanted this path to be safe for those <br />using the trail. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated staff was looking into this. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund commented Dunkin Donuts met with staff today and explained the <br />EDA lot the City has owned for 35 years was in play for this project. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported Saturday, September 20 was the scheduled date of return for <br />the Mermaid. <br /> <br />C.
