The City and the Union have conducted a series of negotiation <br /> sessions and have come to an agreement on terms for the three-year period beginning January <br /> 1, 2026. <br /> Discussion: <br /> The Agreement provides for the following changes: <br /> Article 17 — Insurance <br /> For 2026, the City will contribute a maximum amount of$1,305 per month toward each <br /> employee's insurance, a $30 increase over the 2025 contribution of$1,275. For 2027 and 2028, <br /> the table below would apply. If, for example, health insurance premiums increase by 15% for <br /> 2027, the City would increase its monthly contribution to $1,350. <br /> If the Health Insurance The Maximum Monthly City <br /> Premium Increases by Contribution will increase by: <br /> Less than 1% No change <br /> 1% to5.99% + $15 <br /> 6% to 10.99% + $30 <br /> 11% to 15.99% + $45 <br /> Greater than 16% + $60 <br /> Article 17.1 — Wording within the article was restructured, making it more clear for current and <br /> future staff to navigate the agreement. <br /> Article 17.2 — This segment was removed as it applied to all staff, is benefit related, and not a <br /> negotiable item. Article 17.2 was replaced with information relating to the Family and Medical <br /> Benefit Insurance Program which becomes available January 1, 2026, and will be available <br /> to covered employees as defined under Minnesota Statute Chapter 268B. <br /> Article 20 — Uniform Allowance Increase of$30 per year. Additionally, the City agreed to provide <br /> any officer assigned to the SWAT team with an additional uniform allowance of$500 per year. <br /> Article 23.2 — Retirement Health Care Savings — Recalculated to this contract period. <br /> Article 24 — Holidays —Added a graph of the holidays for clarity purposes. <br /> Article 27 — Longevity Pay — Added one percentage point to each of the four longevity <br /> anniversaries officers receive (occurrences at 4-, 8-, 12-, and 16-year service anniversaries). <br />
