Item No. 6B <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: October 30th, 2025 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />(2.5 fulltime Park Workers) worked on the following items since <br />October 1st, 2025. <br />Parks Maintenance <br />• Leaf mulching and leaf removal at all parks, litter pick up before mowing <br />• Reminder- Silverview building is closed for the season (pavilion use only) <br />• Portable bathrooms removed from most parks the week of October 27th <br />City Hall Park 2025 Construction Schedule <br />-Tribute Park some electrical components still need to be installed. Finish grading and dormant grass <br />planting still need to occur before Veterans Day November 11tn <br />- Splash pad parking lot final asphalt lift to be completed week of October 27th <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items last month: <br />• Several resident phone consults and site visits <br />• Contractor meets and calls <br />• Planter boxes fall cleanouts (vegetation removals) <br />Finished 2025 full city diseased tree survey, marking public and private trees- mailing letters. <br />Species and number of marked trees in 2025: 44 Oak Trees marked, 64 Ash Trees Marked, 1 Elm <br />tree marked citywide. Numbers citywide for 2025 are down for Ash and Elm, Oak numbers are <br />similar to 2024 numbers. <br />• Oakwood Park drainage easement summer storm damage tree cleanup (10 trees were removed) <br />The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. <br />Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two -month period are in grey. <br />1IPage <br />
