Mounds View City Council January 26, 2026 Regular Meeting Page 6 1 liaison to the Festival in the Park Committee. 2 3 Mayor Lindstrom thanked Council Member Gunn for being willing to serve on the Festival in the 4 Park Committee but noted he wanted to move forward with Council Member Smith as the liaison 5 for this committee. 6 7 Ayes—4 Nays—0 Abstain— 1 (Smith) Motion carried. 8 9 Council Member Clark indicated she attended the Mounds View Police Foundation meeting and 10 noted the Daddy Daughter Dance would be held on Saturday, January 31 at the Mounds View 11 Community Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. She noted tickets for the event could be purchased 12 through Eventbrite or at the door. 13 14 Council Member Clark explained the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission met last week. 15 She noted this group was taking applications for one vacant position. She was happy to report that 16 the skating rinks in the community were open for use. 17 18 Council Member Clark stated the next Mounds View Matters would be coming out in early 19 February. 20 21 Council Member reported the City was still holding the food distribution events on Sunday at the 22 Community Center from 3:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. She noted that over 400 families were being served 23 weekly. She thanked the Manna Market and all the volunteers who were making these events 24 possible. 25 26 Council Member Smith stated the Mounds View Festival in the Park was looking for donations of 27 Easter egg candy and these donations could be dropped off at the Community Center. 28 29 Council Member Smith indicated she attended an Airport Commission meeting two weeks ago 30 and noted this group was looking for volunteers to assist with organizing an aviation day's festival. 31 32 Council Member Smith reported she would be attending a Cable Commission meeting on 33 Thursday, January 29. 34 35 Council Member Smith read a statement from the Ramsey County League of Local Government 36 noting she understood her neighbors were carrying a heavy emotional burden at this time. She 37 stated it was important to honor the shared experience everyone was going through. She discussed 38 how local leaders were serving on the front lines of community well building through public safety 39 and the trust that was built during times of trauma. She noted that the Ramsey County League of 40 Local Government was built on community, collaboration and shared growth. She discussed how 41 this organization was striving to create a culture of connection as they navigate what comes next. 42 She indicated Ramsey County League of Local Government would be meeting on Friday, January 43 30 at 8:00 a.m. and would be discussing mental health and crisis support, community engagement 44 and civic resources,public safety and officer support, along with legal rights and information. 45
