The Mounds View Vision A Thriving Desirable Community Staff Report Continued Trade-In: Nuss Truck & Equipment has provided the City a quote for a trade-in on unit #445, 2011 Freightliner M2106V in the amount of $30,000.00. This trade-in value speaks highly of the condition of the truck and the preventative maintenance that has been performed by the past and current Public Works Staff. The Public Works Department adheres to the practice of maintaining all of its vehicles and equipment to the best operating condition. With the deduction of the trade-in the cost for the new truck and plow package would be $313,734.00, the current 2025-2029 CIP budget has the replacement set at $240,000.00. Summarize Costs: A summary of the proposed truck replacement is as follows: • 2027 Mack GR42BR Single Axle Truck $143,112.22 • Trade-In of 2011? Dump Truck ($30,000.00) Sub-total of truck $113,112.22 • Equipment and Options $188,772.00 (Dump body, plows, lights, controls, etc) • Auto Grease System $10,350.00 • New Radio, Decals $1,500.00 • Dump Truck and Equipment Sub-total $313,734.33 • Transfer and License Fees will be required TBD Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. Financial Impact: No Impact to the 2026 Budget as funds are budgeted in the 2027 5 Year Financial Plan Vehicle and Equipment Fund, account 460-4470-7040. Recommendation: Staff are recommending that the City Council approve the pre-order of a 2027 Mack GR42BR from Nuss Truck & Equipment off the State contract (Cooperative Purchasing Venture - CPV Program) in the amount of $143,112,22 for this truck. Transfer and license fees not included. Staff also recommend that the City Council approve the pre-order of equipment and options for the 2027 Mack Dump Truck including a dump body, front plow and wing, under body plow, lights and cab controls under the State contract (CPV Program) from Tow Master Truck Equipment in the amount of $188,772.00 for the purchase and installation of these items. Staff further recommend the Council pre-order the Auto Grease System of $10,350.00 to be installed by Lubecore. Staff also recommends the Council approve a new City Radio and Decals at a cost of $1,500.00.
