<br /> <br />2025 Annual Report: Sgt. Schultes (K9 Grizz) & Officer Aase (K9 Ace/K9 Brandi) <br /> <br />Officer Aase and K9 Ace/Brandi <br />K9 Ace was in service from June 2022 until September 2025. K9 Ace was forced to <br />medically retire due to reoccurring health issues. K9 Ace was an invaluable member of <br />the Mounds View Police Department. K9 Ace had dozens of successful tracks, <br />apprehensions and evidence finds in his short three-year career. K9 Ace was not only <br />an amazing dual purpose K9, but his passion for working and taking care of his handler <br />Officer Aase was always noticed. K9 Ace took passion in always having Officer Aase’s <br />back on any call they went on. He was always motivated, driven, and ready to work <br />whenever he was asked to. K9 Ace was a vital part of the K9 unit for over three years <br />and made a huge impact on the community with his work on duty, along with the <br />multiple community events and demonstrations he participated in. <br />Officer Aase and K9 Ace had a very special bond and although their time together was <br />cut short, they will forever be remembered as a professional and courageous and <br />fearless team. As of September 2025, K9 Ace officially retired from duty and now lives at <br />home with Officer Aase. Even though K9 Ace wishes he was still a working K9, he is <br />very much enjoying the retired life of being a normal dog. Thank you, K9 Ace, for your <br />commitment to not only Officer Aase, but to the City of Mounds View, the community, <br />and the officers you served alongside with. You will forever be remembered and never <br />forgotten. <br />Officer Aase was given the opportunity to work a second K9, which he accepted. Officer <br />Aase and K9 Brandi began their MCC TAC-21 Red Team K9 training on September 8th, <br />2025. Officer Aase and K9 Brandi graduated from K9 school on October 29th, 2025, <br />where K9 Brandi certified in tracking, apprehension and obedience. On November 12th, <br />2025, Officer Aase and K9 Brandi completed their narcotics certification making them a <br />dual purpose K9 team. K9 Brandi is certified in locating methamphetamine, heroin, and <br />cocaine. K9 Brandi is the first female K9 in the history of the Mounds View Police <br />Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
