Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported he could 4 <br />investigate this if direction was provided by the Council. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Clark asked how often this building was rented. Public Works/Parks and 7 <br />Recreation Director Peterson indicated this was one of the lowest rented buildings in the park 8 <br />system. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Lindstrom inquired if the City would get another 30 years out of the building. Public 11 <br />Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated the building as in great shape and noted the 12 <br />City would get another 30 years out of this building. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Valerie Amundsen, 3048 Woodale Drive, commented on residential homes, Minnesota insurance 15 <br />companies are not insuring homes with roofs for over 15 years, unless they are grandfathered in. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Jean Strait, 7728 Knollwood Drive, explained she recently got a new roof and there were hail 18 <br />resistant shingles that the City could investigate. She commented she received a 23% decrease in 19 <br />her homeowners insurance this year and 50% last year. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mr. Meyer provided further information on the metal catches that must be installed with metal 22 <br />roofs to catch the snow over entrances. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Council Member Meehlhause inquired if the City’s insurance rates would be impacted if the City 25 <br />were to pursue a metal roof. Finance Director Bauman reported that each of the City’s buildings 26 <br />are given a value by the League of Minnesota Cities and the values do not change if the roof is 27 <br />replaced. 28 <br /> 29 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Clark/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10213, 30 <br />Approving the Proposal from Garland Company LLC for Roof Repairs at Groveland Park 31 <br />Building. 32 <br /> 33 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 34 <br /> 35 <br />D. Resolution 10216, Approving the Purchase of One (1) Replacement Dump 36 <br />Truck. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve the purchase 39 <br />of one (1) replacement dump truck. He explained that the City purchased a 2011 Freightliner dump 40 <br />truck that was used for hauling materials, street maintenance and snow and ice control. He 41 <br />indicated dump trucks were replaced on a 15-year cycle, and this dump truck was due for 42 <br />replacement. He commented further on the new dump truck options and requested the Council 43 <br />approve the preordering of the dump truck noting the City would take possession in 2027. 44 <br /> 45 <br />Council Member Smith asked how much it would cost the City to preorder the dump truck.
