• MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> JANUARY 23, 1997 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Members present included Chair Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Long, Dentz, Silvis, Gunn, and Stevenson. <br /> Council members present included Stigney and <br /> Koopmeiners. Director Saarion was also present. <br /> APPROVAL OF <br /> MINUTES: Commissioner Silvis made a motion seconded by <br /> Commissioner Dentz to approve the minutes of November <br /> • 7, 1996. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 1997 GOALS & <br /> OBJECTIVES: Commissioners reviewed the final draft of the 1997 Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission Goals and Objectives. Commissioner Silvis <br /> made a motion seconded by Commissioner Gunn to accept the <br /> 1997 Goals and Objectives as written. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> CC TASK FORCE <br /> MTG INFO: Director Saarion asked if there were any changes to the <br /> community center design as suggested by the Community <br /> Center Task Force. Commissioners reviewed the report and <br /> agreed that the report reflected the suggestions that were <br /> discussed at the CC Task Force meeting. <br /> SCHOOL <br /> PARTNERSHIPS: Director Saarion reported that the Parks and Recreation <br /> Department was working with Pinewood School in scheduling the <br /> playground during summers. In addition, the department is <br /> assisting in making arrangements for maintenance groups, <br /> performing safety checks and describing repairs that are needed. <br /> • Staff also visited with Sunnyside School Principal to relay <br /> cooperative efforts for facilitating after school programs. <br />
