CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
• FESTIVAL COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES
Tuesday, April 22, 1997
CALL TO ORDER: Co-Chair Theresa Cermak called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Members present included: Co-Chairs Theresa Cermak and
Carol Johnson, Pete Severson, Debbie Miller, Steve Schack,
Don Hodges, Amy Hodges, Jeanne Kassim, Mrs.Saldana,
and Tom Vanmeter from Lillie Suburban Newspapers. Staff
present included Marvin Johnson and Mary Saarion.
APPROVAL OF
MINUTES: Motion was made by and secondec by to approve the minutes of
April 8, Motion passed unanimously.
BUDGET: Current list of encumbered costs, expected costs and
expected revenue as well as revenue received to date was
reviewed. Members were asked to prioritize expenses so
• that when money becomes available, prioritized items can be
ordered. It was suggested that the T-shirts for sale and for
committee members be stricken and in its place sell more
neon ropes, which have proven to be a better revenue
producer. Motion was unanimously passed.
Another suggestion was to coorinate with the Lion's
on the use of 2-way radios - having the Lion's use
them in the morning during the parade and the
Festival Committee use them during the afternoon
and evening during Festival activities - each paying
half the cost.
Another suggestion was to look into the most
inexpensive portable restroom costs. The parade
will need portable restrooms and the Festival will
also need portable restrooms.
It was suggested that the old Festival T-shirts should
be sold at the information booth, for an inexpensive
price - to get rid of them. Whatever is sold will be
• revenue for Festival operations.
