COMMITTEE
REPORTS: •
PARADE: Two bands have been confirmed (the two that had originally
confirmed attendance) Albert Lea and Irondale. The bands
will be judged. The Lion's parade committee is working
hard on organizing the parade.
DONATION
JARS: Theresa Cermak reported that all the donation jars
have been delivered to various business places. She
will check the jars every week and bring in money
for deposit into the Festival fund.
ENTERTAIN-
MENT: The motion was made by Pete Severson and seconded by
Mrs. Saldana to give authority to Pat Michna to confirm
and contract entertainment for the Festival for the $2,000
budgeted amount. Motion passed unanimously.
CAR SHOW: Car show is all set, flyers available. Pete wants to purchase
the trophies but is waiting on the sponsor's money to come
in first. •
FOOD: Ramsey County umbrella permit has been submitted.
Individual forms must be completed and return from the
various community groups. The forms must be sent in to
Ramsey County.
PUBLICITY: From Lillie Suburban Newspapers was present. He showed
the advertising magazine that was prepared and distributed
last year. He promised that the same kind of piece could be
prepared this year. There is no charge for this. Revenue
from various ads are solicited by the paper staff and used to
pay for the advertising. It was decided that the magazine
would be sent out the week before the Festival. Information
on Festival activities and schedule of events must be
submitted to the paper. Kathy Harrer will be in charge
providing the information.
OTHER REPORTS: No new news on other committees - everyone is busy working on their
assignments.
ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting is Tuesday, May 20 at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall. •
Meeting was adjourned by Co-Chair Carol Johnson at 5:30 p.m.
