CITY©t
Phone: (612) 717-4000
A [I 5W Fax: (612)784-3462
o4*Pess • PartnerSs‘s`S
August 18, 1997
Dear Community Task Force Members:
It is time to meet once again and review a new community center design and operations plan. VB
Diggs was unable to provide a funding plan to the City Council. Therefore they are no longer
part of the project. The community center design will need to change a bit. The City Council
would like to have you review the new design and provide recommendations. In addition, you
will be asked to review the operations program and provide your input. This will mean that you
will need to think about who you would determine to be priority users (ie. residents versus non-
residents, school district activities, youth, adult, etc.) revenue producing programs (such as
banquet rentals) and subsidized programs (such as teen center). Who should supervise the day to
day operations of the community center? What input will the community have regarding
operations of the community center? To what degree should the community center be subsidized,
• or perhaps there should be no subsidy and how will that impact activities offered to the
community? These and other questions need to be discussed at the meeting - and you will be
asked to provide recommendations to the City Council.
Community Center Task Force meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28
in Conference Room C.
If you are unable to attend the meeting please call me at 717-4041. Your input is very important
so please make every effort to attend.
Sincerely,
Mary Saarion, Director
Parks, Recreation& Forestry
•
■T« 2401 Highway 10 • Mounds View, MN 55112-1499 tot
SOY INKI1,
xx+ea Dave,
Equal Opportunity Employer
