• ' MEMO
To: Parks and Recreation Commissioners
From: Mary Saarion
Subject: Information requested re. DW Jones project
Date: August 18, 1997
The Parks and Recreation Commission requested additional information before making a
recommendation for Park Dedication Fees for the DW Jones Property Development project.
Staff has obtained information that was requested. Hopefully this information will provide help in
forming a recommendation for Park Dedication Fees which can be passed on to the Community
Development Department.
1. What is the time line for improvements to Silver Lake Road from County Rd H to Hwy 10
which includes the segment along this development proposal?
Public Works Director Ulrich said that there is no specific year for the Silver Lake Road
reconstruction project -that it could be 5 years, 10 years or even longer.
At the time of reconstruction, the County would replace any sidewalk or trail that they had
to remove for construction at no cost to the City if one already existed.
2. What is the plan for Red Oak Dr. - is there a continuation of a trail on the other side of
Hwy 10 that this strip of trailway could connect to?
There are no plans for the near future for Red Oak Dr. Other roads that are in more
urgent need for reconstruction are listed before Road Oak Dr.
3. What is the estimated amount of Park Dedication Fee for this project?
It is estimated that the Park Dedication for this project would be between $20,000 -
$25,000.
4. What is the estimated cost of the sidewalk/trailway along this stretch of Silver Lake
Road?
The estimated cost is $15,000 - 20,000 for paving an off-street trailway.
