This seems to be a similar <br /> problem for all of us. There is a shortage of swimming instructors to meet our needs. During this <br /> meeting I hope that we can discuss and pinpoint various reasons why swimming instructors are so <br /> difficult to find, and find ways of dealing with the problem. Is it the pay, the number of hours, the <br /> requirements for certification? Is there a way that we can develop our own instructors? Are there <br /> different ways of developing swimming instructors. Is there a way to share instructors by <br /> scheduling programs to fit instructor availability? How can we use un-certified, but good <br /> swimmers and teachers to teach our classes? <br /> These are a few questions that I hope we can address during this meeting. Refreshments will be <br /> provided -to energize those creative juices! The meeting is Monday, September 22 at 10:00 <br /> a.m. at Mounds View City Hall. <br /> DIRECTIONS TO CITY HALL: <br /> From the west-take 694 to Silver Lake Road and go north (left) approximately 3-4 miles to Hwy <br /> 10. Take a left (going east) on Hwy 10 through 2 signal lights. Turn on Edgewood Dr. which is <br /> a off-road between Long Lake Road and Cty Rd H2. City Hall is brick building - look for the <br /> water tower. <br /> From the east - take 694 to Hwy 10/Cty Rd H exit and continue past 4 signal lights. City Hall is <br /> the next exit after the 4th signal light - Building is on right hand side, look for the water tower. If <br /> you go past Long Lake Road you went 1 block too far. <br /> This will be a casual, brainstorming session that will hopefully lead to activities that will prove <br /> helpful in securing swimming instructors for our aquatics programs. Please feel free to bring <br /> others along to this meeting. The more ideas the better!!
