The City has always hoped for a computerized digital sign that <br /> • gives opportunity to provide many messages simply by typing in the message through an <br /> electronic computerized system. There is a potential tax revenue benefit for the City if the City <br /> Hall Park land was used for economic development purposes. It would then be up to the Parks <br /> and Recreation Commission and staff to negotiate plans for acquiring additional parkland or <br /> lighting fields for additional hours of use, and ensuring that parks has a benefit in the revenue <br /> stream. The Parks and Recreation Commission should take on the advocacy role ensuring that a <br /> project such as this benefits the overall parks system in negotiating a deal or plan for parks <br /> enhancement. <br /> So, I hope that we can have a lively discussion on Thursday, December 4 regarding this issue. <br /> • <br />
