As the school year progresses, Officer Garcia remains actively engaged in crisis <br /> response, student and parent meetings, and investigations. During the first quarter, she <br /> responded to the following school-related calls for service: <br /> • 7 — Investigative Incidents <br /> • 4 — Juvenile Incidents <br /> • 2 — Person in Crisis <br /> • 2 — Recovered Property <br /> • 1 — Civil Matter <br /> • 1 — Medical <br /> • 1 — Harassment report <br /> • 1 — 911 Hang up <br /> • 1 —Assist Other Agency <br /> • 8 — Traffic stops <br /> Notable Incidents: <br /> On 02/05/2026, Officer Garcia assisted the New Brighton DPS and SRO at Irondale <br /> High School for a Mounds View resident student who was a suspected victim of <br /> maltreatment/neglect and abuse. Officer Garcia partnered with NBDPS SRO and <br /> Ramsey County Child Protection to place the student with a trusted family member. No <br /> charges were filed with Mounds View Police Department. <br /> On 03/24/2026, Officer Garcia investigated an assault that took place at the 5300 block <br /> of Edgewood Dr involving several Edgewood Middle School students. Two students <br /> engaged in a fight while several other students stood by and encouraged and recorded <br /> the fight. Officer Garcia interviewed all parties involved and ultimately charges were not <br /> requested at this time. <br /> On 03/27/2026, Officer Garcia investigated a later determined assault at the 5100 block <br /> of Edgewood Dr. A student assaulted a teacher who was unprovoked. The student <br /> became upset after the teacher would not allow the student to use his school laptop. <br /> The student chased after the teacher and struck the teacher on the back of the head <br /> causing injury. After interviewing all parties involved, charges were requested. This case <br /> is pending. <br /> Looking ahead, Officer Garcia remains committed to supporting both schools as they <br /> move into the busy final months of the academic year. With warmer weather <br /> approaching, she looks forward to increased engagement with students during outdoor <br /> activities at Pinewood Elementary. Officer Garcia remains dedicated to maintaining a <br /> safe, secure, and positive school environment. <br />
