The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO 10262 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING A POLICE COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER (CSO) <br />RECRUITMENT PROCESS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff began a successful Community Service Officer (CSO) program <br />in June 2024 with two CSOs. One CSO terminated in May 2026 and the second has <br />completed their education and will soon be promoted to a Mounds View Police Officer <br />position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, individuals eligible to apply for the position are required to be currently <br />enrolled in a post-secondary law enforcement program or college level course in criminal <br />justice or police science; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, once hired for the position, the CSO candidate would provide non- <br />licensed police support to the police department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CSO position will work 20 – 29 hours per week, and accrue <br />vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay. Only Minnesota Paid Leave (MNPL) as insurance <br />benefits are available for this position.
