MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA August 1 , 1985 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6 : 30 p.m. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 30 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Chairperson Burmeist- er , Commissioners Weflen, Long, Linnell , and Silvis. Commissioners absent: Commissioner Letendre . Commissioner Bowman has resigned. Councilmembers present : Councilmember Quick. Staff present : Park and Recreation Director Anderson . INTERVIEWS WITH The Park Commission interviewed three appli- PARK COMMISSION cants for the current Park Commission vacan- PLICANTS cy: 6: 45 p.m. Alice Fritz , 7:00 p.m. Jan Lindberg , 7 : 15 p.m. Diane Wuori . Each inter- view lasted approximately 15 minutes. Fol- lowing the interview process, a motion was made by Commissioner Burmeister, seconded by Commissioner Long to recommend to the City Council that Diane Wuori be recommended as the individual to fill Commissioner Bowman' s vacancy. Motion passed. 4 ayes, 1 nay BRIEF TOUR OF CITY Due to time constraints, this item was de- PARK SYSTEM INCLUDING layed until the August 22, 1985 meeting. GREENFIELD PARK, WOOD- CREST AND RANDOM PARKS APPROVAL OF MAY 23 PARK A motion was made by Commissioner Burmeister, AND RECREATION MEETING seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the MINUTES May 23 Parks and Recreation Commission meet- ing minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously. 5 ayes, 0 nayes COUNCILMEMBERS REPORT No report was provided. /d/Ng,Li/ CHAIRPERSON 'S REPORT G} rso inquired when the tennis nets would be placed at Greenfield Park. Staff indicated they would be up the • following day, as they were special ordered. Chairperson Burmeister also stated that there was a broken swing at Groveland Park and staff stated that they were not aware of it and that it would be repaired immediately.
