Much of the discussion centered around the budget situation. <br />Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following events: <br />• January 13, 2010 Minnesota Environmental Quality Board Coordinating Planning Group <br />Meeting. He has been appointed by the League of Minnesota Cities to represent <br />municipalities. The group is dealing with requirements for the various comprehensive <br />plans, including how the reports are consolidated with a logical sequence. This should <br />result in a smoother operation and a better product in the end. It will require legislative <br />effort at the state, as well as the federal level, and will likely be brought to the legislature <br />in the 2011 legislative session. <br />• January 14 & 15, 2010 City Council/Staff Retreat <br />• January 19, 2010 Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) meeting. <br />He was elected Chair of the MWMO and Scott Vreeland of Minneapolis Parks and <br />Recreation Board was elected Vice Chair. <br />• January 22, 2010 presentation of the ACEC Grand Award for the Water Re -Use Project. <br />• January 23, 2010 he was invited to speak at the orientation of new Minneapolis Park and <br />Recreation Board members at Gross National Golf Course. The Board is visiting <br />adjacent cities in an effort to become good neighbors. <br />• Fourth Annual Parking Lot & Sidewalk Maintenance Workshop today at City Hall. <br />• Annual meeting this evening with City Manager Morrison, Police Chief Ohl, himself, and <br />the mayors of Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. The meeting is to ensure that everything <br />is running harmoniously. The mayors have nothing but positive comments about the <br />Police Department and Police Chief Ohl. <br />
