City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />November 9, 2010 <br />Page 4 <br />1 Councilmember Stille suggested including the 39`h Avenue sidewalk as an alternate in the <br />2 advertisement for bids. <br />3 <br />4 Council consensus was supportive of including the 39`s Avenue sidewalk as an alternate in the <br />5 advertisement for beds for the 2011 Street and Utility Improvement Project <br />6 <br />7 Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 10- <br />8 078; A Resolution Accepting the 2011 Street and Utility Improvement Project Plans and <br />9 Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for Bids. <br />10 <br />11 Motion carried unanimously. <br />12 <br />13 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />14 <br />15 City Manager Mornson reported on the following: <br />16 • The City Council may wish to make a decision at the November 23`d or December 10 <br />17 City Council meeting on whether to cancel the December 28, 2010 City Council meeting. <br />18 • Applications are being accepted for openings on the Park and Planning Commissions. <br />19 • Contract negotiations are in progress with Public Works, Police Department, and Fire <br />20 Department unions. <br />21 • Seminar put on by Springsted Thursday that focused on the state of the economy and <br />22 tools that are available for redevelopment. <br />23 • Notification has been received that the MPCA has suspended work on the environmental <br />24 review and permitting of the Bituminous Roadways Roseville project as a result of a <br />25 recent amendment to the Roseville land use ordinance. <br />26 • Congratulations to Police Chief Ohl and Fire Chief Malenick for the success of the <br />27 departments in obtaining grants. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Faust noted the importance of the City Council, staff and residents in remaining aware of <br />30 the Bituminous Roadways Roseville project in case it comes forward again in the future. <br />31 <br />32 Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Gray: No report. <br />35 <br />36 Councilmember Jenson reported on his involvement with the Kiwanis stuffing advertising <br />37 pamphlets regarding the St. Anthony Middle School Builders Club. The Builders Club is a <br />38 group of 6`h — 8`h grade students with a mission to serve their community. <br />39 <br />40 Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Faust reported on the following: <br />43 • His attendance at the October 27, 2010 Middle Mississippi Watershed Management <br />44 Organization (MWMO) Executive Board meeting to prepare for today's MWMO <br />45 meeting and preparation of the organization's Third Generation Plan.
