He indicated staff is comfortable with the contract and feels a <br />multi-year contract will help the City prepare future budgets in terms of personnel costs. <br />Mayor Faust stated the three-year contract includes a I % salary increase for 2012 and a 2% <br />increase in 2013 and 2014, as well as a reduction in the accrual for personal leave payout, a hard <br />cap on maximum paid time off accrual, and an increase in insurance coverage of$IOO for 2012. <br />He added the Police Department has been without a contract since the first of the year. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Jenson , to approve Resolution <br />12-075; A Resolution Ratifying the 2012-2014 Agreement between the Law Enforcement Labor <br />Services, Inc. # 186 Local Representing the St. Anthony Police Department Licensed Employees <br />and the City of St. Anthony. <br />Motion carried 4-0 (Councilmember Gray absent). <br />REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />City Manager Casey stated the City will be participating in a grant program called "Aging in <br />Place" offered through the Department of Health and the Greater Minnesota Housing Corp. <br />which will provide up to 25 homeowners with a free assessment by an occupational therapist <br />who will work with the homeowner to help them stay in their home as long as possible . He <br />indicated grants up to $500 are available and can be used to pay for items such as grab bars or <br />handrails. He added the City will work with community services and the School District on <br />outreach and s taff from the program will be invited to a City Council meeting. <br />Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the August 6 th City Council work session. <br />He also reported on the City Council 's attendance at the August 7th Night to Unite events <br />throughout the City. He stated there were 39 block parties held that evening and each <br />Councilmember attended five block parties. He expressed the City Council 's thanks to residents <br />for inviting the City Council to their block parties. <br />Councilmember Jenson reported on his attendance at the Kiwanis pancake breakfast on August <br />5th during Villagefest. He also reported on his attendance at the August 6 th City Council work <br />session and August t h Night to Unite events. <br />Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the August 6th City Council work session and <br />August 7th Night to Unite events. He expressed the City Council's thanks to all the residents <br />who organized Night to Unite block parties. <br />Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following: <br />• July 31 MWMO "View from the Big River" event. He stated the event was attended by <br />Rep. Kari Dziedzic and Rep. Billlngebrigtsen, as well as representatives from the Board <br />of Water and Soil Resources, Department of Natural Resources, Department of <br />Transportation, CenterPoint Energy, and the Audubon Society.
