City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />August 28, 2012 <br />Page 5 <br />2 Councilmember Jenson -No report. <br />3 <br />4 Council member Roth -No report. <br />5 <br />6 Councilmember Stille -No report. <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Faust stated when Mr. Hromatka from Northwest Youth and Family Services presented to <br />9 the City Council there were some questions about the numbers provided for the amount of <br />\0 services the agency provided. He advised that Northwest Youth and Family Services has <br />II indicated the City'S contract provided $3 ,550 and through June 30th , the agency has provided a <br />12 little over $10,000 in services primarily related to diversion services for students who have some <br />13 behavioral aspects that need to be dealt with. He reported that he has put his name in for the <br />14 planning committee for the League of Minnesota Cities conference to be held in St. Paul next <br />15 year, which will mark the looth year that the League has been in existence. <br />16 <br />17 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />20 are not on the regular agenda. <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />33 <br />34 <br />35 IX. <br />36 <br />37 <br />38 <br />39 X. <br />40 <br />Mr. Ken Brown , 342 2 Silver Lane, and President of the Evergreen Board, appeared before the <br />City Council and stated he has previously addressed the City Council regarding fire code <br />restrictions on grilling in the Evergreen housing area. He stated the Acting Fire Marshal <br />discussed with him additional restrictions he was not previously aware of which prohibit the <br />storage ofa 20 lb. LP tank in a residence basement or garage. He indicated in 2011 the <br />Minnesota State Fire Code adopted NFPA Code 58 for LP storage, which says multi-family <br />buildings cannot store LP tanks in basements or garages and the St. Anthony Fire Code applied <br />this to structures with three or more units so it affects duplexes and town homes and he felt this <br />was unfair. He stated they thought that using electric grills on their decks would offer a solution <br />since they would not be using charcoal or fuel but the Acting Fire Marshal informed him electric <br />grills are not allowed and inferred that these electric grills may have juices that could cause a <br />flame fire.
