Mayor Sundland indicated the Apache Merchant's Association Director <br />would be giving her report on some of the programs the Chamber was <br />3 planning for the City at this time. Ms. Olsonoski indicated the <br />4 Chamber would be sponsoring an historical tour of the City on September <br />5 20th to start at 5:00 P.M. with hors d'oeuvres and end with supper at <br />6 the Stonehouse. The observation was made that the Council might also <br />7 have a reason for celebrating if the closing on the Kenzie Terrace <br />8 Project bonds is accomplished that day. Ms. Olsonoski also gave a brief <br />9 overview of other projects the Chamber would be sponsoring, including <br />10 a Christmas Tree Lighting Contest, which the St. Anthony Gardenettes <br />11 will be asked to judge. She also indicated action had to be taken soon <br />12 on the proposed St. Anthony float because without it, she was afraid <br />13 Apache would no longer support an Aquatennial Queen candidate. Ms. <br />14 Olsonoski concluded her report on Chamber activities by saying the <br />15 organization was still thinking about a summer festival next year. <br />16 Councilmembers who expect to participate in the historical tour were <br />17 asked to get in touch with Mr. Childs as soon as possible. <br />18 DEPARTMENTS AND COMMITTEES <br />19 The following were ordered filed following brief comments on a few of <br />20 the matters reported: <br />21 *July Liquor Operations Sales Summary <br />22 *May and June Police Department Reports <br />*July Fire Department Report <br />z4 *July 20th and August 3rd reports from the Hance and LeVahn law <br />25 firm related to St. Anthony prosecution activities in Hennepin <br />26 County District Court during those periods. <br />27 CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br />28 August 1 and 16, 1988 Staff Meeting Notes <br />29 Councilmember Marks indicated he perceived the Public Works' striping <br />30 of the City crosswalks to be a big improvement. <br />31 Sprinkling Ban to be Lifted September 1st <br />32 Staff had recommended waiting until Labor Day to do the above, but Mr. <br />33 Childs indicated he perceived no problem with lifting the restrictions <br />34 earlier so residents could start to re-establish their lawns. The City <br />35 Manager indicated it would take about 5 days to get the information out <br />36 and he was certain Wells #3 and #4 would be able to handle the increase <br />37 in water use. <br />38 Council Action <br />39 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to lift all restrictions on lawn <br />A0 sprinkling in St. Anthony, September 1, 1988. <br />12 <br />
