1 Councilmember Marks Reports Participation in North Mankato Planning and <br />Zoning Institute <br />3 The Councilmember indicated the above institute had been held December <br />4 8th. <br />5 City Representatives Report "Cordial and Productive" Meeting That <br />6 Morning with District #282 School Representatives <br />7 Councilmember Enrooth and Mr. Childs said they perceived greater <br />8 cooperation was possible between the City and the School District in <br />9 conjunction with recreation and community services and the Councilmember <br />10 indicated future meetings would address some of the services which are <br />11 now duplicated. The City Manager said he perceived some cooperative <br />12 janitorial services were possible and said he hoped the recently <br />13 authorized facility study would address some of the current problems <br />14 caused by the wide separation of City and Community Services offices in <br />15 the building. <br />16 Mr. Childs reported it had been decided that a meeting about every other <br />17 month would enable the two entities to work on arrangements designed to <br />18 provide greater cooperation between the City and the School District. <br />19 He said he perceived the School District's main concerns were of a long <br />20 range nature while the City was now more occupied with short range <br />21 issues having to do with the renovation of the building and greater <br />22 utilization of the available space. <br />Mayor Sundland indicated he knew Superintendent Meriwether had been <br />24 anxious to have this meeting held and he said he personally was very <br />25 happy to see a dialogue started with regular meetings scheduled for the <br />26 future. <br />27 Council Authorizes Proclamation of Congratulations to St. Charles <br />28 Borromeo Church on Fiftieth Anniversary <br />29 Councilmember Makowske gave the Mayor a copy of the program for the <br />30 Anniversary Mass the local congregation had celebrated the previous <br />31 Sunday in recognition of establishment of the parish in St. Anthony, <br />32 December 8, 1938. <br />33 Council Action <br />34 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Enrooth to direct staff to prepare a <br />35 proclamation congratulating the parishioners and clergy of St. Charles <br />36 Borromeo Church on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the <br />37 parish in St. Anthony Village. <br />Im <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />39 City Attorney to Research Costs of Officially Changing City Name to "St. <br />40 Anthony Village" <br />5 <br />
