City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 14, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />some sort of IUD explosion in which a building has to be evacuated and the high school area <br />provided an opportunity for them to train in an unfamiliar environment. <br />Mayor Faust expressed thanks and appreciation on behalf of the entire City and the City Council <br />to Lt. Colonel DiNatale and Sgt. First Class Goettl for their service and for working together <br />with the City and the School District. He also thanked Ms. Webster and the School District for <br />their willingness to participate in the training exercise. <br />9 Update from Fire Chief <br />10 Fire Chief Sitarz advised that the Police Department was called to an incident last Thursday and <br />11 due to the complexity of the situation and length of time required to resolve the matter, the <br />12 officers needed a place to warm up and have use of restroom facilities. He stated that at 2:00 <br />13 a.m., the owner of Fitness Crossroad was contacted and without hesitation, Mr. Barry Tedlum <br />14 made the space available for emergency responders. He expressed thanks on behalf of himself <br />15 and Police Chief Ohl to Mr. Tedlund for his willingness to help out and for opening his doors <br />16 during a difficult situation. <br />17 <br />18 Mayor Faust expressed the City Council's thanks and appreciation to Fitness Crossroad. <br />19 <br />20 Fire Chief Sitarz advised that the Fire Department Open House was held last Saturday and the <br />21 attendance was their largest ever reported of 550 people. He thanked Firefighter Mattie Jaros for <br />22 organizing the open house. <br />23 <br />24 III. CONSENT AGENDA. <br />25 <br />26 A. Presentation from the University of Minnesota Sustainability Students. <br />46 <br />47 Ms. Jessica Orr stated the Sustainability Studies Minor class has been working with the cities of <br />48 St. Anthony, Falcon Heights, and Lauderdale on the Capstone project. <br />
