Mayor Faust expressed thanks and appreciation on behalf of the entire City and the City Council to Lt. Colonel DiNatale and Sgt. First Class Goettl for their service and for working together with the City and the School District. He also thanked Ms. Webster and the School District for their willingness to participate in the training exercise. 9 Update from Fire Chief 10 Fire Chief Sitarz advised that the Police Department was called to an incident last Thursday and 11 due to the complexity of the situation and length of time required to resolve the matter, the 12 officers needed a place to warm up and have use of restroom facilities. He stated that at 2:00 13 a.m., the owner of Fitness Crossroad was contacted and without hesitation, Mr. Barry Tedlum 14 made the space available for emergency responders. He expressed thanks on behalf of himself 15 and Police Chief Ohl to Mr. Tedlund for his willingness to help out and for opening his doors 16 during a difficult situation. 17 18 Mayor Faust expressed the City Council's thanks and appreciation to Fitness Crossroad. 19 20 Fire Chief Sitarz advised that the Fire Department Open House was held last Saturday and the 21 attendance was their largest ever reported of 550 people. He thanked Firefighter Mattie Jaros for 22 organizing the open house. 23 24 III. CONSENT AGENDA. 25 26 A. Consider September 23, 2014, City Council meeting minutes; 27 B. Presentation from the University of Minnesota Sustainability Students. 46 47 Ms. Jessica Orr stated the Sustainability Studies Minor class has been working with the cities of 48 St. Anthony, Falcon Heights, and Lauderdale on the Capstone project.
