ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 28, 2014 <br />CALL TO ORDER. <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL. <br />Present: <br />16 Absent: <br />17 Also Present: <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />Guests: <br />Mayor Faust; Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Roth, and Stille. <br />None. <br />City Manager Mark Casey. <br />Senator John Marty and Mike Bradley (representing North Suburban <br />Communications Commission). <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />24 I. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 28, 2014, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />25 <br />26 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />27 Council Meeting Agenda of October 28, 2014. <br />28 <br />29 Motion carried unanimously. <br />30 <br />31 H. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />32 <br />33 A. Presentation from Senator John Marty. <br />34 <br />35 Senator Marty stated that the recently enacted Organized Collection Statute is intended to reduce <br />36 wear and tear on streets as well as to reduce expenses for the haulers and he felt that residents <br />37 would be getting better service at a lower cost. He thanked the City for approving the agreement <br />38 and congratulated the City for being the first city in the State to make it happen. <br />39 <br />40 Councilmember Stille stated the City formed a task force in 2008 to consider organized <br />41 collection and at the time, decided the community was not ready for organized collection and the <br />42 City Council set the matter aside and placed it on its list of annual goals for further consideration <br />43 at the right time. He thanked Senator Marty for spearheading the legislation. <br />M <br />45 Mayor Faust commended Senator Marty for his efforts as the chief author of the organized <br />46 collection legislation and extended the City Council's thanks. <br />47 <br />48 II1.
