CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />May 11 1976 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:36 P.M. <br />Present for roll call: Stauffer, Miedtke, Haik and Sundland <br />Absent: Sauer <br />Also Present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br />Larry Vickrey, City Attorney <br />Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br />I.C. Comstock, City Engineer <br />The minutes of the April 27, 1976 Council meeting were corrected as follows: <br />Page 3, para. 2: "Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman <br />Stauffer to authorize Councilman Haik to try to set up an immediate <br />meeting of MSA officials with herself, the Manager and the three <br />property owners...." <br />Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve the <br />April 27th minutes as corrected. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to waive furtiev <br />readings and adopt an ordinance relating to a small amount of marijuana. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1976-004 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE POSSESSION OF A SMALL AMOUNT <br />OF MARIJUANA: CHANGING PENALTIES THEREFOR BY AMENDING <br />SUBDIVISION 7 OF SECTION 965:00 OF THE 1973 CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Results of the meeting of Councilmen Haik and Sundland, Mr. Comstock, Mr. Dulgar, <br />Representative John Sarna and residents of 29th Avenue with the MSA representativ:: <br />Gordcn Faye and Chuck Weichselbaum regarding the 29th Avenue Improvement Project <br />were discussed. The state aid officials have agreed to eliminate the right hand <br />turn to the north off 29th onto Stinson Boulevard as lonq as a 40 ft. wide road is <br />constructed from Stinson to Roosevelt St. M.E. but there was no further comoromise <br />regarding the other two right hand turns onto Silver Lake Road as long as that <br />stretch of 29th is built with the parkway -like design. <br />Mr. Tom Shaeffer reported that a majority of the residents of 29th had attended tine <br />meeting of the T.A.P. 29th Committee May 7th and voted 36 to 2 to accept the <br />compromise. This plan also includes sideigalks east of Silver Lake Road to Crestvie.,,l <br />Drive on the north side of 29th and to the park entrance on Rozells Street c.n the <br />south side. <br />Maurice Surface, who lives at the corner of 29th and Cootldn,e St' et.; .alc:ii. <br />thought sidewalks should have been provided west of SiLve: La're -: nd r;3 wsi` r -o; <br />the safety of the children who use the road.
