Page 5 <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sauer to authorize a <br />letter of appreciation be sent to the civic organizations including Boy <br />Scouts who are responsible for the plantings in the area adjacent to St. <br />Anthony Boulevard, Silver Lake Road and Highway 8. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Haik to enter into an <br />agreement with the Hennepin County Safety Communications Interim User Board <br />for the use of the new communication.system. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The letter from the Mrs. Jaycees regarding their bikathon for the mentally <br />retarded was noted. <br />Mayor Miedtke and Jim Farnell reported on their meeting with the Human Resourc- <br />es Committee of the Metropolitan Council at which they had succeeded in con- <br />vincing the committee to adopt the City's request for a modification of the <br />Metro Council's policies on family -elderly subsidized housing ratios. Mr. <br />Fornell said the City had been granted the variance they sought and the <br />Community Development Grant funds would be received. The Mayor commended the <br />Administrative Assistant for the excellent presentation and data he had <br />furnished for the application for the funds. <br />Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to adopt Resolution <br />No. 76-019. <br />RESOLUTION M0. 76-019 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF THE REVISED CITY OF <br />ST. ANTHONY GRANT APPLICATION TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR INCLUSION <br />IN THE URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRA,1i <br />APPLICATION, IN ACCORD WITH THE HOUSING AND COMMUIIIT'Y DEVELOP- <br />MENT ACT OF 1974 <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to grant vending <br />and service station licenses to Sroga's Standard Station. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve payment <br />of $2,885.54 to the Dorsey Firm for legal services during March, 1976. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to approve payment <br />of $3,000.00 to the George M. Hansen for the 1975 Audit. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to table ar;;ior. <br />for further clarification of the payment of $21,328.25 to Coo�stock t: or <br />engineering services for the 29th Avenue Improvement Project. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />
