Page 4 <br />The meeting was reconvened and the discussion of the County Road D project <br />was resumed with several of the Council expressing their reservation regarding <br />the large amount of property which had to be taken to accomodate the widening <br />of the intersection at Silver Lake Road and County Road D. Councilman Haik <br />citing the similar experience with the turning lanes installed by Ramsey County <br />further up Silver Lake Road at Silver Lane, withdrew her aye vote for the <br />motion of approval of the project. <br />Mr. Dulgar will include these objections in the letter he is to write to both <br />counties indicating the City's intention of contesting its share of costs for <br />the project and reiterating the fact that the City plans to use state aid for <br />any portion of the costs which is not assessed to the property owners affected <br />by the improvement. <br />When the discussion of the zoning ordinance was again pushed forward on the <br />agenda, the Manager said he wanted it noted in the record that Mr. Bernard <br />Blanski had been present to discuss the zoning for the area of 39th Avenue F!.E <br />and Foss Road. <br />Fir. Chester Grygar, Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee -Sewer Study gave his <br />committee's findings and recommendations as contained in their final report. <br />The Manager was requested to work with the City Engineer to prepare a cost <br />estimate for implementation of both the long and short range recommendations <br />set forth in the report including the costs the City could be expected to incur <br />for a comprehensive inflow/infiltration study by independent engineers special- <br />izing in sewer system evaluations. He was to make a report on these estimat- <br />ions and his recommendations at one of the next council meetings. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sauer to accept the <br />sewer study report and to commend the committee for their hard work on the <br />project. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Stauffer noted several changes she felt should be made in the <br />proposed zoning ordinance and it was agreed that the Council memo-rs would <br />be afforded an opportunity to comment further on the ordinance and zoning <br />map before the public hearing is held. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to table action on <br />further discussion of the zoning ordinance until May 18, 1976 when the Coun•ril <br />meets for the Board of Review. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Haik to hold P Public. <br />hearing on the proposed zoning ordinance and zoning map at 8:00 P.M. durinrA <br />the regular Council meeting June 22, 1976. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />No action was taken regarding the trading of motorcycles as reronaue-deal .)j the. <br />Manager and they will be included with other stolen items to be auct°-,ref'. afF <br />May 26th. <br />
